Diary of a 17 year old girl to a 21 year old married woman…

April 8th

1981

We were told we’re in Butlocks Carnival at majorettes today. Mr McDonald phone to say that I may still be getting the job for the police.

1982

Margaret got into work at 11.30 today! Jan’s husband, Roger, came into the office today. Saw Canberra at the Docks, she’s getting ready to sail to the Falklands tomorrow.

1983

Jan had a half day today, so Helen was deputy in her place. Nadina lent me Michael Jackson’s, Thriller tape.

Michael Jackson’s album won eight Grammy Awards. It featured Billy Jean and the title track, Thriller.

1984

We did the troupe routine at competition today, we didn’t do very well. I shouted at Sarah, I apologised afterwards. Sue’s not talking to anyone. We didn’t win anything!

1985

Went to Wookey Hole and Cheddar Gorge with Phil, caught the coach. Really enjoyed it, we missed the bus home so we walked from Woolston.
