Diary of a 17 year old girl to a 21 year old married woman…

May 14th

1981

There wasn’t any work for me to do from 2 till 5, so I watched Jan doing some work. Jeannette who works there and lives in my village gave me a lift home . Lisa and I went for a walk around the village. Spurs won the FA Cup – 3-2.

Spurs winning the FA Cup replay
I’m not sure why I would have put an entry in about football but the spooky thing is that my hubby is a huge Tottenham Hotspur fan, so maybe it was in the stars that we would get together!

1982

Wore my boiler suit to work today. It was the last in the series of We’ll Meet Again. Gave mum and dad flowers for their wedding anniversary.

We’ll Meet Again was a television drama set in the Second World War.

1983

Took Bruce for a walk, saw Graham. Sally, Alan, Kelly and Lee came round and after they left, mum, dad and me went to Antonios in the village for a meal which was really nice.

1984

Back to work today. Jan told me that she is splitting up from Roger. Phoned Paul, going to his house on Wednesday, mum not happy about it and in a bit of a mood with me.

1985

Work was okay, typing letters for solicitors. Mr McIntyre phoned to say we can pick the keys up for the flat on Friday between three and five!
